Freelance replay operator

I run the instant replays for live broadcasts. The moment that matters is back on screen from the right angle, before the audience asks for it. I work in vMix, remotely from the Netherlands or on site.

What I do for you as a replay operator

Happens once, seen twice. That is my job.

    Instant replays

The moment something important happens, I pick the best replay and cue it up for the director. It is back on screen while the audience is still talking about it.

    The story stays clear

A good replay shows how something happened, not just that it happened. The match stays easy to follow however hectic it gets, and your casters have pictures to go with what they are saying.

    Part of your crew

I slot in with your director and the rest of your production, remotely from the Netherlands or on site. On a small team I combine replays with a second role, such as observing.

My work as a replay operator

So far in esports: Valorant and League of Legends, for POG Group, Wolvesden, Studio Prototype and others.

      Hiring a replay operator

What you'll want to know up front.

What does a replay operator do during a live broadcast?

I select and cue up the best replay angle the moment something important happens, so the story of a match or race isn't lost in the rush of live. It's the difference between an audience seeing a moment once and understanding what just happened.

      Which software do you use?

vMix, which I know inside out. If your production runs a different replay system, I'm happy to learn it. Tell me up front and I'll say honestly whether I can be ready in time.

      Can you run replays remotely?

Yes. Every production so far has been remote, from the Netherlands, for organisers in the Netherlands, the UK and Sweden. How I connect depends on your technical setup, and we sort that out together.

Do you only work on esports?

No. My replay work so far has been esports: Valorant and League of Legends. But a replay works the same way for a simrace, a sports match or any other livestream. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll say honestly whether I'm the right person.

Can you combine replays with another role?

Yes, I have done that before: at the Wolvesden Finals in August 2026 I was observer and replay operator at the same time. Whether it fits depends on the game and the size of your production.

What do you need from me?

The date, the length, the game or sport and the system you broadcast with. Let me know whether I'd be remote or on site too. With that I can tell you whether I'm available and put a quote together.

What does it cost to hire a replay operator?

That depends on the length and complexity of the broadcast. Send me the details of your event and I'll put together a fair quote.

      Looking for a replay operator?

Tell me the date, the game or sport and how you broadcast. I usually reply within 24 hours.

      Privacy statement

What I collect. Only what you enter in the request form: your name, email address, organisation and the details of your event.

What I use it for. Only to reply to your request and, if we work together, to plan the production. I don't share it with anyone and I don't send newsletters.

Where it goes. The form reaches me through Google (Google Apps Script and Gmail). This website places no tracking cookies. The fonts, the list of broadcasts and the broadcast stills are loaded from Google (Google Fonts, Google Sheets and YouTube), which means Google sees your IP address. If you play a broadcast on this site, the player comes from YouTube and YouTube may set its own cookies.

How long I keep it. No longer than needed for the request or the production.
